I hope you’re sitting down…because this Egyptian wedding is ah-mazzzing! I probably should have said hello, first! Hi everyone!! But seriously, I am so excited to share the photos from Sarah and Stefan’s wedding celebration! A little over a year ago, I met up with Sarah to get to know about her, Stefan and the special day they were planning! I distinctly remember thinking, “This girl is gorgeous!”  A few months later it was time for the engagement session, and wow. This couple seriously rocks in front of my lens! I knew the wedding day was going to be awesome.

Sarah mentioned that the ceremony was Egyptian, Coptic Orthodox to be exact. Now, I’ve never participated or photographed a wedding ceremony like this before so I was unsure of what to expect. We didn’t get into much detail about the ceremony during out final meeting because I was more focused on timeline and making sure we got all the photos needed. I knew the ceremony would be something beautiful….but honestly, I’m kinda left speechless. And we all know that doesn’t happen often! I truly felt like I was at a Royal Egyptian wedding. The ceremony was all in chant, which for me was a true wow factor. As the ceremony progressed, they were draped in robes, blessed with smoke, and crowned like king and queen…. It was really amazing. I wish all ceremonies were like this! And to top it off, the church was just stunning…the walls were made up of gold flecks and intricate paintings. Truly fit for Royalty.

Once the ceremony was finished, we headed to State Street/Jay Street in Schenectady where we would finish up our portraits. The lighting was perfectly golden and I couldn’t have been more pleased! Once we finished up, I was able to photograph the details in the reception room. The room looked really stunning-an ideal color palette. After introductions it wasn’t long before the dance floor was packed! I was loving every second! I seriously love my job.
