About two weeks ago I was able to photograph Jess and Cody’s engagement session at Cody’s family house in Deposit, New York. Oh my gosh…when I arrived to this property, it was like a page out of Home & Garden magazine! It was perfectly manicured and the definition of home oasis. I love photographing couples at a place that is special to them… it makes the images even that more meaningful!

Right from the start these two were giddy with love…the perfect combination of romantic and fun! Being around these two made me feel like we have been friends for a long time. The weather was really beautiful….Even though earlier in the day it was drizzling, but thankfully it stopped before photos! We used the entire property for the shoot, including this small peninsula-like area which I named “Florida.” Since I love shooting at sunset I was hoping for more of a golden hue from the sun, but I have to say- the soft hazy light was just stunning.

Throughout the shoot, I learned that Jess was a cheerleader and now coaches! I was instantly brought back to my cheerleading days and it took all of my power not to break out into “Be Aggressive! B-E Aggressive!” cheer… yeah. I still remember it. Anyway, I had a great time with these two love birds and I can’t wait to see them tie-the-knot in November! Jess and Cody, thank you so much for choosing me to capture such a special time in your life. Below are some of my favorites from the session!
