It’s probably not an obvious choice- you know, to think about rehearsal dinner coverage. But, more likely than not, you’ll have family and friends traveling to be with you on your special weekend no matter where you tie-the-knot! This rings especially true if you’re a destination bride. The build up of anticipation to see your closest loved ones for the first time is something to cherish. And while the wedding day takes the cake, let’s face it, we spend just as much time planning outfits and all the fun weekend activities, too! So let’s document it.
From a photographers perspective, I absolutely love capturing rehearsal dinners and welcome parties. Here are a few reasons why:
1.) I usually have a lengthy family photo list and it’s soooo helpful to put faces to names! It’s helps me be more efficient on the wedding day when it’s time to capture family formals. Instead of calling out for Uncle Joe, I will know what he looks like and I can assist with wrangling those closest family members to you! Win, win.
2.) It eases your nerves! If you happen to be a client who opted out of engagement photos, this is great for getting your toes wet because I love taking a little time to grab some portraits of the bride and groom-to-be. And honestly, even if you did have engagement photos done, chances are you’re in gorgeous new threads… so let’s make the best of it! This is a time where I can get creative and try new things- and it’s always an incredible outcome.
3.) If there is any last minute things that I can help with, or if you forgot to grab something at a store- this is a great time to ensure that I have your back with anything that could’ve been missed!
4.) It’s a great opening story for your wedding album. Who ever said wedding albums could only have photos from the day of? Let’s show off the entire celebration start to finish. Trust me, your won’t regret it.
xoxo,
Tiffany
