One year ago I had the pleasure of photographing baby Tyler and his family. Today, I am sharing his one-year birthday celebration! This family session really tugs at my heartstrings because Tyler’s older siblings, Alexis and Jack, were so excited to celebrate his first birthday! They decorated the room with balloons and stuffed animals and wrote on the chalkboard “Happy Birthday Tyler!” It was really sweet to see how hard they worked to make the perfect set for his birthday photos! When it was time for Tyler to have his first bite of birthday cake…he wasn’t really sure if he liked it! The face he made just makes me melt! He’s so cute! After Tyler had a couple minutes alone with his cake, his brother and sister jumped in to show him how it’s done! Those were some of my favorite photos…seeing them all together eating cake. Then something struck me- In one of the photos below, you can see Kori-Ann’s hands reached out behind his back, just incase he leaned back too quickly and fell. That moment, although simple, was very significant. How many times throughout life have our own mothers had their hands reached out to us…just incase we “fall.” We may not always feel our parents’ hands on our back, but I think all of us deep down inside know that they are always there for us. As Tyler celebrates his first birthday perhaps the best gift is his mother’s hands…the one’s that will hold him up, catch him when he falls…the hands that will hold his on the first day of school and even when they share a dance on his wedding day. Happy Birthday Tyler, may you always know how much you are loved!!!
XOXO,
Tiffany
