This week has me thinking a lot about what’s most important in life. I think most would agree that family and love are at the top of the list. This wedding celebrates exactly that…the love two people share surrounded by family. I met Kim and Sean a few years back when I was asked to photograph the couple as boyfriend/girlfriend. It was so obvious years ago how much these two loved each other. So, it came to no surprise when I heard that Sean got down on his knee and popped the big question. Following their engagement we go together to photograph them as soon-to-be newlyweds! I loved the images so much that they became featured in my instructional photography book (Photograph Couples), which is available online and in stores nationwide! Needless to say, I was very excited to see these two tie-the-knot….even if they are not Buffalo Bills fans. (wink, wink!)
When the wedding day arrived, the weather was perfect! I was greeted with smiles by the Katie O’ Weddings and Events (KOWE) team in the lobby of the hotel. We were all looking forward to a great day! The girls were fun, outgoing, and full of laughs- just how I like it! After hair and makeup were complete, it was time to get these ladies dressed and ready for the day. Since I am a dog lover, when bride Kim told me her little hairy sunshine would be visiting her for a photo-op I was so excited! Her dog’s name is Bruiser (I hope I spelled that right!) He wore a pup couture tuxedo collar and was so excited to see his mommy on her wedding day. It was precious. When Kim’s father saw her for the first time his eyes sparkled. After a couple joyful tears, this girl was ready to go down the aisle and make this all official.
The ceremony was really special because Sean’s father was able to officiate. The message he delivered to his son, and now daughter-in-law, was so beautiful. He spoke about commitment and love, family and faith. All the important things in life. It was a sweet reminder to cherish all the blessings that cross your path.
After the ceremony we headed to downtown Albany where it was time for portraits. This group was so much fun-and I loved shooting in some new spots. After about an hour, the sun began to set… the soft golden glow on State Street was the perfect finale to complete our portraits. We headed back to 60 State to get the party started. After some touching speeches, this crew never left the dance floor!
Kim and Sean, thank you so much for choosing me to be a part of your special day. It has been so much fun working with you over the years! As you begin this new chapter in your life may you always remember how much you are loved. Below you will find some of my favorites photos from your wedding day… as always leave a little love for the bride and groom in the comment form below! Congratulations!
With Love,
Tiffany
