Spring is officially here and the thought of “April Showers” was not something I was looking forward to when I checked the weather forecast for Leanne and John’s wedding day. I talked with Leanne about having umbrellas ready just in case mother nature wanted to play dirty! When I arrived to Poughkeepsie the night before, I drove around to check out all of the locations I was shooting at – every place was so beautiful! I couldn’t wait to get started! I was also super excited because behind their venue was a stunning backdrop of the mid-Hudson bridge which John and Leanne were having lit up in pink lights for their wedding day. The morning of the wedding arrived and I woke up to the sound of rain drops dancing on my window…so, I decided to have a big talk with the man upstairs. “Lord, please don’t let it rain today. At least don’t let it rain during the time I need to take portraits outside…Amen.” All I have to say is thank you Jesus! The rain stopped!!! And, boy oh boy…..I sure was happy! Just wait until you see some of the sweet moments I captured of this stunning couple! Let’s rewind a little bit… I greeted all of the girls in their hotel suite and everyone was cool, calm, and collected. What made this wedding extra special is that a former TWP bride was the bridal party! It was so nice to see a familiar face! I got started as always by working with details… In the first photo you will see the sign that John used when he proposed to Leanne. This proposal was out of a Disney movie, I swear! He had a preplanned treasure hunt made for Leanne which led her to her ring! He even tea stained the sign to make it look authentic! Super creative! John’s creativity doesn’t stop there… you will also see in this blog books that John hollowed out and made into a small chest for each groomsmen. Each book has a significant meaning for to each guy…way to go John! The day was certainly one I’ll never forget! Leanne and John, thank you so much for choosing me to capture your special day! I wish you all the love and joy in the world…now and always!
xoxo,
Tiffany
