Hi Everyone! This month’s meeting was fantastic! It was great to learn about more about my peers and what keeps us focused and what distracts us. At the start of every meeting, I always like to go around the room for introductions. Each week I am seeing new faces and that makes me super happy, so it’s only fitting that we get a chance to introduce ourselves. Before this month’s meeting I was thinking of ways that would help connect our members aside from being creative entrepreneurs. In addition to the formal introduction, I asked the group to share one fun fact that is not business related. By doing so, we found out we are all a bunch of animal lovers! I also made an invitation announcement to a summer BBQ for Rising Tide members in the North East! Details on that invitation below!

On the business front, we chatted a lot about email etiquette and how social media has a tendency to distract productivity (Any surprises there?!) We concluded that that morning hours are best for checking off the big to-do lists… and be sure that the most important tasks are worked on in the forefront of the day.For more information on Daily Routines, please click on the link below!

Toward the end of the meeting I pulled out a jar of Smuckers Jelly. Everyone looked a bit confused. I went on to explain that even though the packaging says 20 ounces, Smuckers packs a few ounces more in every jar. The point? Give more. But friends, don’t just give for the sake of giving- if that makes any sense. Give authentically. How do you do that? I believe in order to give authentically, you have to know where it’s coming from. This led me to challenge the group… to think about WHY. Why do you do what you do? And, don’t include the obvious: “Because I like taking pictures/writing/makeup etc…” It is so easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others. Don’t lose yourself to comparison. Focus on your WHY. So, I challenge you to dig. Dig deep. After you discover your WHY, you will begin to see new doors open and you will have a wonderful sense of fulfillment. One where you won’t have to look for others for validation. A true connection between heart/soul and entrepreneurship. Be brave. Be bold. Most importantly, be YOU.
