Hello friends! This blog post means so much to me on so many different levels. With all the new “self discovery” and changes with TWP, I want to take what I’ve learned and pay it forward. Five years ago, when I first opened up Tiffany Wayne Photography I really didn’t know what to expect. I was trained in photography and I had some ideas of how to start a business…but a lot of it was “learn-as-you-go.” I went from working in an office environment with lot’s of co-workers to working from home with my dog, Beckham. Ok, I admit, sometimes I consider Beckham my little, hairy co-worker…but it’s not the same. To be blunt, it’s easy to feel alone as a small business owner- especially in the wedding industry. Unfortunately, there is an underlying mentality that we can’t share our business secrets (which I don’t believe in… and I’ll get to that in a minute) or we can only support/help our vendor friends to a certain point. Why is that? I firmly believe there are no secrets in business. There are no secrets in photography. The only advantage one may have over another is experience…so why not help each other out? I truly believe there is more than enough business to go around- we should not let fear of failure control our thoughts. Think of it this way friends, if you have to fight to gain someone’s business..they probably aren’t the right client for you anyway.

About a month ago I was selected to be the leader of The Rising Tide Society for Albany, New York. The Rising Tide Society is a worldwide movement for creative entrepreneurs that believe in community over competition and have a desire to lead with love. On the second Tuesday of every month, we will get together to talk about business ideas and goals…and/or simply to build each other up. To listen and support.
